PlainMarket was born out of a straightforward aspiration: to introduce true Neapolitan pizza to London. Established by the Brown lineage in 1985, our pizza shop began as quaint, family-managed venue, grounded in recipes passed down for generations.
Emily Brown, the visionary behind our brand, mastered the craft of pizza creation while journeying across Italy, learning from seasoned pizzaiolos in Naples where pizza first originated. Returning to the UK, her goal was to replicate the enchantment of genuine Italian pizza, respecting age-old techniques and using premium ingredients.
From its inception as a humble 12-seat pizza parlor, it has flourished into a cherished establishment in the community, yet our pledge to excellence and genuine culinary traditions remains steadfast. Our age-old wood-fired ovens still bake our pizzas, our dough is made fresh every day, and we seek out the finest ingredients available.
To this day, 'PlainMarket' continues under the stewardship of the Brown family's second generation, leading a team of zealous staff. While we have adopted certain contemporary advancements, at our core remains an unwavering dedication to creating delectable, traditional pizzas that unite people.
